Thousands of people were fleeing their homes Sunday evening as a strong wind blows the wildfire out-of-control into a northern Alberta town where hundreds of buildings were destroyed. The town of Slave Lake has a population of 7,000 people who were forced to pack into parking lots and beaches and other open areas to wait for the general evacuation that was underway. According to local radio station 92.7 lake FM, says their studio along with the city hall and hundreds of other buildings in Slave Lake have been engulfed by the flames. City officials and citizens are calling it crazy and they are in real trouble.I read this article in disbelief and I am still shocked about this. This is being called one of the worst natural disasters in Canada ever. I could not believe that hundreds of buildings are being taken by the fire. When this ends (hopefully soon) all of the citizens are going to be left without homes and jobs. Also the town was forced to shut down a crude pipe that passes through, in risk of feeding the fire more. This creates more problems for the place that crude goes to.
